MINUTES

Representative West, Chair of the Children and Families Finance and Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 3:00 PM on February 12, 2025, in Room 123 of the State Capitol. A quorum was present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Hanson moved the minutes of February 11, 2025 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF22 (Gillman) Parent's bill of rights created.

Chair West moved HF22 be re-referred to the Education Policy Committee.

Chair West moved the H0022A1 amendment be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Alecia Leiviska, Co-Director, Minnesotans for Health and Parental Rights; Cristine Trooien, Executive Director, Minnesota Parents Alliance; Karin Miller, Faith in Action; Meg Luger Nikolai, Staff Attorney, Education Minnesota; Rebecca Delahunt, Director of Public Policy, Minnesota Family Council and Institute; Dori Trossen, citizen; Jill Grunewald, Founder, Protective Parent Coalition; William Wagner, Vice President, Parental Rights Foundation; Nadine Monge, citizen; testified on HF22, as amended.

Chair West renewed his motion that HF22, as amended, be re-referred to the Education Policy Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF45 (Pérez-Vega) Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Outreach Program funding provided, and money appropriated. The bill was laid over, as amended.

Representative Pérez-Vega moved HF45 be laid over.

Chair West moved the H0045A1 amendment be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Mesa Siebert, Second Harvest Heartland; Janet Gracia, President, Neighborhood House; Ivette Izea-Martinez, Greater Twin Cities United Way; testified on HF45, as amended.


The meeting was adjourned at 4:49 PM.
