MINUTES

Representative West, Chair of the Children and Families Finance and Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 3:01 PM. on March 11, 2025, in Room 123 of the State Capitol Building. A quorum was present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Olson moved the minutes of March 5, 2025, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1169 (Nelson) - Commissioner of children, youth, and families directed to make recommendations for paperwork reduction relating to child protection cases.

Vice-Chair Nelson moved that HF1169 be re-referred to the Ways and Means Committee.

Vice-Chair Nelson moved to adopt the H1169A1 amendment.

Vice-Chair Nelson moved the following oral amendment to the H1169A1 amendment: P. 1 L. 7, delete everything after “appropriation” and insert a period. THE ORAL AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Vice-Chair Nelson renewed the motion to adopt the H1169A1 amendment, as amended. THE AMENDMENT, AS AMENDED, WAS ADOPTED.

Cynthia Shypulski, CCWIS Moderation Supervisor in the Business Integration Division at the Department of Children, Youth and Families.

Sarah Florman, Legislative Director, Department of Children, Youth and Families.

Vice-Chair Nelson renewed the motion that HF1169, as amended, be re-rereferred to the Ways and Means Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Vice-Chair Nelson assumed the gavel at 3:19 PM.
HF1916 (West) - Child care assistance program integrity program established; commissioner of children, youth, and families directed to establish an electronic record-keeping system for child care enrollment; reports required; and money appropriated.

Chair West moved that HF1916 be re-referred to the Judiciary Finance and Civil Law Committee.

Chair West moved to adopt the H1916A7 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Coulter moved to adopt the H1916A6 amendment. Representative Coulter requested a roll call vote. The results were as follows:
