MINUTES

Representative Kresha, Chair of the Education Finance Committee, began the meeting at 1:00PM, on February 27, 2025, in Room 120 of the Capitol Building. A quorum was present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Clardy moved the minutes of February 25, 2025, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Bakeberg assumed the gavel at 1:02PM.

HF29 (KRESHA) - SOCIAL STUDIES STANDARDS ADOPTION SUSPENDED AND REVIEW CYCLE MODIFIED, ETHNIC STUDIES REQUIREMENTS REPEALED, AND ETHNIC STUDIES APPROPRIATIONS CANCELLED.

Representative moved HF29 before the committee.

Representative Kresha presented on HF29.

On a vote of 10 AYES and 12 NAYS, THE MOTION DID NOT PREVAIL.

Vice Chair Bakeberg laid over HF29 for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill or further consideration at a later date. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:45PM.
