EDUCATION FINANCE MINUTES

Representative Cheryl Youakim, DFL Co - Chair of the Committee on Education Finance, called the meeting to order at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 20, 2025, in Room 120 of the State Capitol Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Hudson moved that the minutes from March 18, 2025, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1048 (Youakim) Charter school general education revenue calculation clarified.

Chair Youakim moved that HF 1048 be re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Chair Youakim presented HF1048.

Chair Youakim renewed the motion that HF 1048 be re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1049 (Youakim) School district eligibility for school library aid clarified.

Chair Youakim moved that HF 1049 be re-referred to the Committee on Taxes.

Chair Youakim presented HF1049.

Chair Youakim renewed the motion that HF 1049 be re-referred to the Committee on Taxes. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF745 (Feist) School's compensatory revenue eligibility calculated on the basis of both direct certification and the application of education benefits, percent of compensatory revenue spent at each site under certain conditions, Compensatory Revenue Task Force established, reports required, and money appropriated.

Chair Youakim moved HF745 to be laid over for possible inclusion in an Education Finance bill.

Representative Feist presented HF745.

Representative Rehm moved that HF2210 be laid over for possible inclusion in an Education Finance bill.

Representative Rehm moved the DE1 amendment before the committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Rehm presented HF2210, as amended.
