MINUTES

Representative Bennett, Chair of the Education Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 3:01 PM, on March 11, 2025, in Room G23 of the Capitol Building. A quorum was present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Dippel moved the minutes of March 5, 2025, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF914 (Quam) School districts allowed to access personnel files of prospective teachers from their employing districts.

Chair Bennett moved that HF914 be re-referred to the Judiciary Finance and Civil Law Committee.

Representative Quam presented on HF914.

Representative Bennett renewed the motion that HF914, be re-referred to the Judiciary Finance and Civil Law Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF630 (Mueller) Short-call substitute teacher pilot program extended.

Representative Mueller moved that HF630 be re-referred to the Education Finance Committee.

Representative Mueller moved to adopt the A1 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Mueller presented on HF630, as amended.

Representative Mueller moved that HF1959 be re-referred to the Education Finance Committee

HF1418 (Hill) Teacher licensure provisions modified, grant programs transferred from Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board to the Department of Education, reports required, and money appropriated.

Representative Hill moved HF1418 before the committee.

Representative Hill moved to adopt the DE3 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
