MINUTES

Representative Josh Heintzeman, Chair of the Environment and Natural Resources Finance and Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 1:00 PM, February 25, 2025, in Room G3 of the Capitol Building.

A quorum was present.

Representative Nelson moved the minutes of February 20, 2025 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

H.F. 1120 (Myers) Keep it Clean program established, and money appropriated.

Chair Heintzeman moved that HF 1120 be laid over for possible inclusion in a future bill.

The following individuals testified on HF 1120:

Robyn Dwight, Keep it Clean Coalition member, President of Upper Red Lake Area Association.
Joe Henry, Lake of the Woods Tourism Director; MNFish Board member.
Tom Johnson, Minnesota Pollution Control Agency Government Relations Director.
Bob Meier, Assistant Commissioner, Department of Natural Resources.

Chair Heintzeman laid over HF 1120.

Vice Chair Burkel assumed the gavel at 1:15 PM.

H.F. 1218 (Heintzeman) Funding from the environment and natural resources trust fund, prior appropriations modified, and money appropriated.

Chair Heintzeman moved that HF 1218 be re-referred to the Ways and Means Committee.

The following individuals testified on HF 1218:

Becca Nash, Legislative-Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources Director.
Mike Campana, Legislative-Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources Assistant Director.

Chair Heintzeman renewed the motion that HF 1218 be re-referred to the Ways and Means Committee, THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:36 PM.
