MINUTES

Representative Scott, Chair of the Judiciary Finance and Civil Law Committee, called the meeting at 10:15 AM, on ¬¬¬¬¬February 13th, 2025, in Room G3 of the Capitol Building. A quorum was present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Mahmoud moved the minutes of February 11th, 2025, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.


HF 20 (Niska) Classification of certain data maintained by the attorney general clarified.

Chair Scott moved that HF 20 be re-referred to the General Registry.

Testifiers:

Representative Niska, Minnesota House of Representatives, testified in favor of HF 20.

Don Gemberling, Minnesotans for Open Government, testified in favor of HF 20.

James Dickey, Senior Trial Counsel, Upper Midwest Law Center testified in favor of HF 20.

Oliver Larson, Attorney General’s office, testified in opposition of HF 20


Lead Liebling moved that HF 20 be re-referred to the Committee on State Government committee and requested a roll call. The result is as follows:

Vice Chair Hudson assumed the gavel at 11:38 AM.

Chair Scott re-assumed the gavel at 11:42 AM.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:57 AM.
