MINUTES

Representative Nash, Chair of the State Government Finance and Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:15 AM, on ¬¬¬¬¬February 27, 2025, in Room G23 of the Capitol Building. A quorum was present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Jones moved the minutes of February 20, 2025 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Joy moved the minutes of February 25, 2025 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.


HF550 (Torkelson) Bipartisan Redistricting Commission established, principles to be used in adopting legislative and congressional districts established, and constitutional amendment proposed.

Chair Nash moved HF550 be re-referred to the Judiciary Finance and Civil Law Committee.

Chair Nash renewed the motion that HF550 be re-referred to the Judiciary Finance and Civil Law Committee.

HF796 (Myers) Members of public safety policy and finance committees required to participate in ride along with law enforcement or fire departments, and adoption of legislative rules required.

Chair Nash moved HF 796 be re-referred to the Public Safety Finance and Policy Committee.

Chair Nash moved to adopt the A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMDNEMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Nash renewed the motion to re-refer HF 796, as amended, to the Public Safety Finance and Policy Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 140 (Bahner) State-funded County and city cybersecurity grant program established, report required, and money appropriated.

Chair Nash moved HF 140 before the committee.

Representative Bahner moved to adopt the A1 amendment.

Representative Bahner moved the following oral amendment to the A1 amendment: On P.1. L. 6, delete the ellipsis and insert “$5,000”. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE ORAL AMEDNMENT TO THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Bahner renewed the motion to adopt the A1 amendment, as amended. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
