A wintry blast has forced a temporary halt to the fast-paced 2023 legislative session.

House leadership announced Tuesday that all House committee hearings and floor sessions would be cancelled the remainder of the week due to a winter storm expected to wallop St. Paul and other parts of southern Minnesota with upwards of 20 inches of snow.

Senate meetings and floor sessions have also been cancelled. Legislative business is scheduled to resume Monday, Feb. 27.
