(10) any other item of value offered, and allocation of costs of item between employer and employee.
Sec. 2. Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 181.635, subdivision 2, is amended to read:
Subd. 2. [RECRUITING; REQUIRED DISCLOSURE.] An employer employing or recruiting three or more persons
with a common predominant language other than English or five or more persons with a predominant language other than
English shall provide written disclosure of the terms and conditions of employment to a person at the time it recruits
the person
Sec. 3. Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 181.635, subdivision 6, is amended to read:
Subd. 6. [STANDARD DISCLOSURE FORM.] The department of labor and industry shall provide a standard form for
use at the employer's option in making the disclosure required in subdivision 2. The form shall be available in English and

commissioner of labor and industry for development and translation into ten languages of the standard disclosure form
required in section 3. The appropriation is available until June 30, 1999.
Subd. 2. [PUBLIC AWARENESS CAMPAIGN; REPORT TO LEGISLATURE.] $....... is appropriated
from the general fund to the commissioner of labor and industry to work in consultation with the councils created under
Minnesota Statutes, sections 3.922, 3.9223, 3.9225, and 3.9226 to develop and implement a public awareness campaign
to educate employees and employers on their rights and duties under Minnesota Statutes, section 181.635. The appropriation
is available until June 30, 1999. The commissioner shall report to the legislature by January 15, 1999, on the results of the

"Section 1. [EXTENDING CERTAIN ANGLING AND SPEARING SEASONS.]
Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, sections 97C.345, subdivisions 1 and 2, paragraph (b), 97C.371, subdivision
4, and 97C.395, subdivision 1, paragraph (a), clause (1), and any season set by Minnesota Rules, part 6262.0200, the
1997-1998 angling season for walleye, sauger, northern pike, muskellunge, largemouth bass, and smallmouth bass and the
1997-1998 spearing season for roughfish, catfish, lake whitefish, and northern pike are extended through March 1, 1998,
except that no spearing will be permitted on Cass lake, in Beltrami and Cass counties, during this extension. The
commissioner of natural resources by order may close the season in all or parts of the state before March 1, 1998, if the
commissioner finds it necessary for protection of the resource. Such an order is effective upon filing with the secretary of
state. The rulemaking provisions of Minnesota Statutes, chapter 14, and sections 84.027, subdivision 13, and 97A.0451
to 97A.0459, do not apply to this section.
Sec. 2. [EFFECTIVE DATE.]
This act is effective the day following final enactment. "

Those who voted in the affirmative were:
to relocate to Minnesota to work in food
processing by an offer of employment. "Food processing" means canning, packing, or otherwise processing poultry or meat for consumption. (e) "Terms and conditions of employment" means the following: slow-down slowdown or shutdown or if hours of work per week vary more than 25
percent from clause (3); to relocate to work in the food processing industry. The disclosure requirement does not apply to a
person to be paid wages at a rate of at least two times the minimum wage set by section 177.24 or an exempt employee
as defined in United States Code, title 29, section 213(a)(1). The disclosure must be written in English and Spanish
in the person's predominant language, dated and signed by the employer and the person recruited, and maintained
by the employer for two years. A copy of the signed and completed disclosure must be delivered immediately to the recruited
person. The disclosure may not be construed as an employment contract. A request by an employer for a person's
predominant language is not an unfair employment practice under section 363.03. Spanish in the person's predominant language. to
change from one place to another in this state, or to change from any place in any state, territory, or country to any place in
this state, to work in any branch of labor through or by means of knowingly false representations, whether spoken,
written, or advertised in printed form, concerning the kind or character of such work, the compensation therefor, the sanitary
conditions relating to or surrounding it, or failure to state in any advertisement, proposal, or contract for the employment that
there is a strike or lockout at the place of the proposed employment, when in fact such strike or lockout then actually exists
in such employment at such place. Any such unlawful acts shall be deemed a false advertisement or misrepresentation for
the purposes of this section and section 181.65. (4)" insert "(d)" and reinstate the stricken language an a health care agent acting under this chapter directs the
provision of health care, nutrition, or hydration that, in reasonable medical judgment, has a significant possibility of
sustaining the life of the principal or declarant, a health care provider shall take all reasonable steps to ensure the provision
of the directed health care, nutrition, or hydration if the provider has the legal and actual capability of providing the health
care either itself or by transferring the principal or declarant to a health care provider who has that capability. Any transfer
of a principal or declarant under this paragraph must be done promptly and, if necessary to preserve the life of the principal
or declarant, by emergency means. This paragraph does not apply if a living will under chapter 145B or a durable power
of attorney for health care directive indicates an intention to the contrary.
