The House of Representatives convened at
12:00 noon and was called to order by Steve Sviggum, Speaker of the House.
Prayer was offered by the Reverend Lonnie
E. Titus, House Chaplain.
The members of the House gave the pledge
of allegiance to the flag of the
Speaker Sviggum introduced the new House
member, Representative Larry Haws from District 15B, and announced that he had
previously been administered and subscribed to the oath of office on Thursday,
January 19, 2006, and that his election certificate was on file. He was elected in a special election held on
Tuesday, December 27, 2005 to replace Joe Opatz, whose resignation was
effective on Thursday, December 15, 2005.

message of the Governor at 12:00 noon, Thursday, March 9, 2006; that the Chief

a.m.; that the Governor be advised accordingly; and that the Speaker appoint a
committee of five members of the House of Representatives to act with a similar
committee to be appointed by the Senate to escort the Governor to the Joint
