Pursuant
to Minnesota Statutes 2018, section 137.0246, subdivision 2 and Joint Rule of
the Senate and House 4.01, the Joint Higher Education Committee met on February 18, 2019
to consider candidates for the vacancy on the University of Minnesota Board of
Regents.
The Joint Committee
allowed all candidates who were recommended by the Regent Candidate Advisory
Council, who had not withdrawn their applications, as well as candidates
nominated during the Joint Committee, an opportunity to address the Joint
Committee and respond to questions.
After hearing from
all candidates, the Joint Higher Education Committee voted according to the
joint rules of procedure. Based on a
majority vote of the House members and a majority vote of the Senate members of
the Joint Legislative Committee, we respectfully forward the following names to
the Joint Convention of the Senate and the House of Represenatives:
