1.6Page 33, after line 13, insert:

1.7    "Sec. 26. FERROUS METALS MINING ADMINISTRATIVE FEE.
1.8    (a) Until a new application fee schedule is adopted for permits to mine ferrous metals
1.9according to the report submitted by the commissioner of natural resources under article
1.101, section 3, subdivision 2, the commissioner shall charge the following administrative
1.11fees, payable to the commissioner by June 30 of each year, beginning in 2008 until a
1.12new application fee schedule is adopted.
1.13    (b) The owner, operator, or manager of the following mines shall pay $90,000:
1.14    (1) Minntac and Keetac; and
1.15    (2) North Shore, Hibbing Taconite, and United Taconite.
1.16    (c) The owner, operator, or manager of the Minorca mine shall pay $10,000.
1.17    (d) The owner, operator, or manager of the following mines shall pay $3,333:
1.18    (1) Minnesota Steel;
1.19    (2) Mesaba Nugget; and
1.20    (3) Cliffs Erie, formerly LTV.
1.21EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment
1.22and applies to owners, operators, and managers holding or applying for a permit to mine
1.23under Minneota Statutes, section 93.481, during the 2007 calendar year."
1.24Renumber the sections in sequence and correct the internal references
1.25Amend the title accordingly
