1.3    "Sec. 3. RULEMAKING.
1.4    The commissioner of natural resources shall, no later than July 1, 2007, commence
1.5rulemaking to amend Minnesota Rules, chapter 6120, by publishing notice of intended
1.6rulemaking in accordance with the Alternative Shoreland Management Standards, dated
1.7December 12, 2005. The notice to the legislature required under Minnesota Statutes,
1.8section 14.116, for rules proposed according to this section must include a copy of the
1.9proposed rules, which proposed rules shall include the Alternative Shoreland Management
1.10Standards to Minnesota Rules, chapter 6120, as drafted and published by the Department
1.11of Natural Resources on December 12, 2005. Rulemaking commenced under this section
1.12must be concluded in accordance with Minnesota Statutes, chapter 14 and new Minnesota
1.13Rules, chapter 6120 shoreland protection rules finalized no later than July 31, 2008."

1.15Amend the title accordingly
