1.3Page 4, delete section 6 and insert:

1.4    "Sec. 6. Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 201.061, is amended by adding a subdivision
1.5to read:
1.6    Subd. 1b. Compensation prohibited; penalty. (a) No individual may be
1.7compensated for the solicitation, collection, or acceptance of voter registration
1.8applications from voters for submission to the secretary of state, a county auditor, or
1.9other local election official.
1.10    (b) A person who violates this subdivision is guilty of a petty misdemeanor."
