1.3Page 5, after line 24, insert:
1.4    "Subd. 7b. Form 1099 requirements. A person for whom an individual is
1.5performing services must obtain a copy of the individual's independent contractor
1.6exemption certificate prior to issuing an Internal Revenue Service Form 1099 under
1.7Internal Revenue Code section 6041. Any form 1099 issued to an independent contractor
1.8must be submitted by the employer to the state commissioner of revenue within 30 days
1.9of issuance and be accompanied by a copy of the individual's independent contractor
1.10exemption certificate."
