1.3    "Sec. 9. DOULA SERVICES STUDY.
1.4    The commissioner of human services shall conduct a study relating to medical
1.5assistance, comparing the use of epidurals and cesarean sections among women who use
1.6doula services compared to women who do not. The study must:
1.7    (1) evaluate the frequency with which epidurals are provided to women who use
1.8doula services compared to women who do not use these services; and
1.9    (2) evaluate the frequency with which cesarean sections are performed on women
1.10who use doula services compared to women who do not.
1.11The commissioner must report findings to the legislature by August 1, 2008."
