1.2Delete everything after the enacting clause and insert:

1.3    "Section 1. APPROPRIATION; NATIVE PLANT RESEARCH.
1.4    $250,000 is appropriated in fiscal year 2008 from the general fund to the
1.5commissioner of agriculture for a grant to the Minnesota Turf Seed Council for basic
1.6and applied agronomic research on native plants, including plant breeding, nutrient
1.7management, pest management, disease management, yield, and viability. The grant
1.8recipient may subcontract with a qualified third party for some or all of the basic or applied
1.9research. This is a onetime appropriation."
1.10Amend the title accordingly
