1.3Delete everything after the enacting clause and insert:

1.4    "Section 1. APPROPRIATION.
1.5    $250,000 in fiscal year 2008 is appropriated from the general fund to the
1.6commissioner of veterans affairs for grants to assist World War II veterans in attending
1.7the dedication of the Minnesota World War II Memorial in St. Paul on June 9, 2007,
1.8and for other expenses of the dedication event. The commissioner may spend only that
1.9portion of this sum for which a matching amount, whether in cash or in kind, is donated by
1.10nongovernmental sources for this purpose. This appropriation is available immediately. If
1.11an appropriation for this purpose is enacted more than once, the appropriation is effective
1.12only once. "
