1.3    "Sec. 3. Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 144.608, subdivision 3, is amended to read:
1.4    Subd. 3. Regional trauma advisory councils. (a) Up to eight regional trauma
1.5advisory councils may be formed as needed.
1.6(b) Regional trauma advisory councils shall advise, consult with, and make
1.7recommendation to the state Trauma Advisory Council on suggested regional
1.8modifications to the statewide trauma criteria that will improve patient care and
1.9accommodate specific regional needs. The commissioner, in consultation with the
1.10Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Board and the emergency medical services and
1.11trauma hospitals in each region, shall provide quarterly data updates on major trauma
1.12scene ground ambulance transports to each regional trauma advisory council.
1.13(c) Each regional advisory council must have no more than 15 members. The
1.14commissioner, in consultation with the Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Board,
1.15shall name the council members.
1.16(d) Regional council members may receive expenses in the same manner and amount
1.17as authorized by the plan adopted under section 43A.18, subdivision 2."
