1.4    "Subd. 6. Opinion Letters. A licensed insurance producer may not issue, in lieu
1.5of a certificate, an agent's opinion letter or other correspondence that is inconsistent with
1.6this section.
1.7    Subd. 7. Application. Nothing in this section shall limit or restrict:
1.8(1) the rights of a policyholder or third party in an action against an insurance
1.9producer or insurance company for an error or omission regarding evidence of coverage; or
1.10(2) the rights of a third party against an insurance producer or insurance company
1.11resulting from the reliance on a certificate of insurance given to the third party by an
1.12insurance producer or insurance company."
