1.6    Section 1. [175A.11] WORKERS' COMPENSATION OMBUDSMAN.
1.7    Subdivision 1. Ombudsman established. The chief judge shall appoint a Workers'
1.8Compensation Ombudsman from a list of three persons recommended by the workers'
1.9compensation advisory council. The Workers' Compensation Court of Appeals must
1.10provide staff support to assist the ombudsman in performing the duties required in
1.11subdivision 2.
1.12    Subd. 2. Duties. Upon request by an employer, an employee, or an employee's
1.13dependent, the Workers' Compensation Ombudsman shall provide assistance and
1.14information regarding rights and obligations under chapter 176 and provide assistance in
1.15settling disputes between employees and employers by contacting third parties, including
1.16attorneys, insurers, and health care providers, on behalf of employers and employees."
