1.2Page 21, after line 31, insert:

1.3    "Sec. 49. [624.7133] BACKGROUND CHECKS; GUN SHOWS.
1.4(a) No person shall transfer a firearm at a gun show without conducting a background
1.5check on the proposed transferee in the same manner, and in compliance with Minnesota
1.6and federal law, as if a federally licensed firearms dealer were transferring the firearm. A
1.7gun show promoter shall arrange for the services of one or more licensed gun dealers on
1.8the premises of the gun show to obtain the background checks required by this section.
1.9(b) If any part of a firearm transaction takes place at a gun show the transfer must be
1.10in compliance with paragraph (a).
1.11(c) A gun show is defined as the entire premises provided for an event or function
1.12open to the public, including but not limited to parking areas for the event or function,
1.13that is sponsored to facilitate, in whole or in part, the purchase, sale, offer for sale, or
1.14collection of firearms at which, 20 or more firearms are offered for transfer, and two or
1.15more persons are offering one or more firearms for transfer.
1.16(d) Violation of this section is a gross misdemeanor."
