1.2Delete everything after the enacting clause and insert:

1.3    "Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 256L.07, is amended by adding a
1.4subdivision to read:
1.5    Subd. 9. Firefighters; volunteer ambulance attendants. (a) For purposes of this
1.6subdivision, "qualified individual" means:
1.7(1) a volunteer firefighter with a department as defined in section 299N.01,
1.8subdivision 2, who has passed the probationary period; and
1.9(2) a volunteer ambulance attendant as defined in section 144E.001, subdivision 15.
1.10(b) A qualified individual who documents to the satisfaction of the commissioner,
1.11status as a qualified individual, by completing and submitting a one-page form developed
1.12by the commissioner, is eligible for MinnesotaCare without meeting other eligibility
1.13requirements of this chapter, but must pay the maximum premium, as defined in section
1.14256L.15, subdivision 2, paragraph (b)."
