1.3    "Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 43A.24, is amended by adding a
1.4subdivision to read:
1.5    Subd. 2a. Premiums for legislators. If a legislator chooses to participate in the
1.6state employee group insurance program, the monthly premium to be paid by the legislator
1.7for individual coverage is $50, and for family coverage $150. However, a legislator must
1.8pay the monthly amount of the required employee premiums under the commissioner of
1.9management and budget's plan for unrepresented state employees if those premiums are
1.10higher than the rates set in this subdivision.
1.11EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective July 1, 2013."
