1.2Delete everything after the enacting clause and insert:

1.3    "Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 161.44, is amended by adding a
1.4subdivision to read:
1.5    Subd. 12. Periodic review. (a) The commissioner shall examine all real property
1.6owned by the state and under the custodial control of the department, to decide whether
1.7any may be declared as surplus and suitable for sale or some other means of disposal.
1.8(b) The commissioner shall report on its findings under paragraph (a) to the
1.9legislative committees with jurisdiction over transportation policy and finance by March 1
1.10of each odd-numbered year. The report may be submitted electronically, and is subject
1.11to section 3.195, subdivision 1.
1.12(c) For purposes of this subdivision, "surplus" means real property no longer needed
1.13or necessary for trunk highway purposes, and which have not been used for trunk highway
1.14purposes for a period of five years or more."
1.15Amend the title accordingly
