1.2Page 1, delete lines 7 to 13 and insert:
1.3"This section applies to a participant in the state employee group insurance program
1.4who was denied dependent coverage between July 1, 2012 and December 31, 2012
1.5pursuant to an audit conducted under Laws 2011, First Special Session, chapter 10,
1.6article 3, section 40. The commissioner of management and budget must reimburse the
1.7participant for the cost of other insurance that the participant purchased during the period
1.8of denial of dependent coverage if:
1.9(1) the participant establishes that the participant was eligible for dependent coverage
1.10during the period in which it was denied, and was dropped from coverage only because
1.11the participant did not respond in a timely manner to a request to verify information; and
1.12(2) the commissioner of management and budget cannot prove that a certified letter
1.13notifying the employee of upcoming denial of eligibility was delivered to the employee.
1.14EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective the day following final enactment."
