1.3Page 28, after line 9, insert:

1.4    "Sec. 9. [174.42] TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVES PROJECTS.
1.5    Subdivision 1. Definition. For purposes of this section, "transportation alternatives"
1.6means those projects identified in the state transportation improvement program having
1.7(i) a program category of bike trail, enhancement, or recreational trail, (ii) any program
1.8category that is substantially similar to a category identified in item (i); or (iii) a route
1.9system category of ped/bike.
1.10    Subd. 2. Funding requirement. In each federal fiscal year, the commissioner
1.11shall obtain a total amount in federal authorizations for reimbursement on transportation
1.12alternatives projects that is equal to or greater than the annual average of federal
1.13authorizations on transportation alternatives projects calculated over the preceding four
1.14federal fiscal years."
1.15Renumber the sections in sequence and correct the internal references
1.16Amend the title accordingly
