EIGHTY-FIFTH SESSION TWENTY-SIXTH MEETING
HEALTH CARE AND HUMAN SERVICES FINANCE DIVISION

Vice Chair Hosch began the twenty-sixth meeting at 1:11 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2007, in Room 200 of the State Office Building. A quorum was not present.
The Vice Chair announced that due to session running late, HF 842 will be heard next week instead of today.
HF 305 (HUNTLEY) - Freedom to Breathe Act of 2007 adopted establishing public policy to protect employees and the public from hazards of secondhand smoke and prohibiting persons from smoking in specified areas.
Rep. Huntley made a brief presentation. Also testifying in favor of the bill were:
Dr. Marc Manley, Vice President and Medical Director of Population Health at Blue
Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, on behalf of the Freedom to Breathe Coalition

Rep. Huntley moved HF 305 be recommended to pass and be returned to the Committee on Finance and turned the testimony over to:
Representative Severson, Co-author of the bill.
Vice Chair Hosch moved the
H0305A21 amendment and discussion followed. On a voice vote, the motion prevailed and the amendment was adopted.
Rep. Huntley moved the
H0305A23 amendment and discussion followed.

line 1.3, after "V.F.W." insert "and Disabled Veterans Rest Camps"
