MINUTES
Representative Kahn, Chair of the Legacy Committee, called the meeting to order at 12:34 P.M. on April 4, 2013 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present at 12:36 P.M.
Thomas Howes, Natural Resources Manager, Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, gave a brief overview of the project titled "preventing forest fragmentation and protecting and restoring lake and stream habitat in the St. Louis River watershed" that they submitted to the Lessard-Sams Outdoor Heritage Council (LSOHC).
Peggy Ladner, State Director, Nature Conservancy, explained why the Nature Conservancy supports annual funding.
Paul Bugbee, Owner, Bug-Bee Resort, stated that he supports more funding for aquatic invasive species.
Tim Spreck, President, Minnesota Outdoor Heritage Alliance (MOHA), stated that he supports the LSOHC process and if there is a switch to 2-year funding he wants to make sure projects don't fall through the cracks.
Gary Botzek, Executive Director, Minnesota Conservation Federation, stated he supports the LSOHC process and recommendations.
Representative McDonald moved that the minutes of April 3, 2013 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Lance Ness, President, Fish and Wildlife Legislative Alliance, stated he wants to find a solution that works for everyone.
John Curry, Associate Director, Minnesota Land Trust, stated he supported the LSOHC and their process and why he favors annual funding.
John Lenczewski, Executive Director, Minnesota Trout Unlimited, explained his concerns with biannual funding.
The meeting was adjourned at 2:04 P.M.
