MINUTES
Representative Urdahl, Chair of the Capital Investment Committee, called the meeting to order at 3:00 PM on February 1, 2017, in Room 200 of the State Office Building. A quorum was present.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Jurgens moved the minutes from January 30, 2017 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Jeff Freeman, Executive Director, Minnesota Public Facilities Authority, presented an overview of the Governor’s Bonding recommendations.
HF575 (Urdahl) Lanesboro dam project exempted from a nonstate contribution.
Representative Urdahl moved HF575 be re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
HF576 (Urdahl) University of Minnesota and Minnesota State Colleges and Universities higher education asset preservation and replacement funding provided, bonds issued, and money appropriated.
Representative Urdahl moved HF576 be re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Jeff Freeman, Executive Director, Minnesota Public Facilities Authority, testified regarding current bonding projects.
Blaine Hill, Morris City Manager, testified regarding¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬ the need for PFA funds for the city of Morris.
Vernell Roberts, Director Detroit Lakes Public Utilities, testified regarding the need for PFA funds for the city of Detroit Lakes.
Ted Schoenecker, Director, MnDOT State Aid for Local Transportation, presented for the Department of Transportation.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:32 PM.
