MINUTES

Representative Scott, Chair of the Judiciary Finance and Civil Law Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:16 AM, on ¬¬¬¬¬April 3rd, 2025, in Room G3 of the Capitol Building. A quorum was present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Chair Liebling moved the minutes of April 2nd, 2025 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.


HF 2233 (Niska): Uniform Special Deposits Act adopted.

Chair Scott moved HF 2233 before the committee.

Representative Finke moved that HF 2233 be recommended to pass and be placed on the general register.

Representative Finke renewed the motion that HF 2233 be recommended to pass and be placed on the general register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.


HF 1524 (Harder): Agriculture grant program established to promote certain nutrient management practices, and money appropriated.

Chair Scott moved HF1524 before the committee.

Chair Scott moved the A1 amendment before the committee. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Scott moved that HF 1524, as amended, be re-referred to the Committee on Agriculture Finance and Policy.

HF 1893 (McDonald): Criminal investigation active period of time modified regarding investigative data.

Chair Scott moved that HF 1893 be laid over for consideration at a later date.

Chair Scott moved the DE 1 amendment before the committee. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Scott moved the A6 amendment before the committee. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

HF 3022 (Scott): Miscellaneous technical corrections made to laws and statutes; erroneous, obsolete, and omitted text and references corrected; redundant, conflicting, and superseded provisions removed; and style and form changes made.

Vice Chair Hudson Moved HF 3022 before the committee.

Chair Scott moved that HF 3022 be recommended to pass and be placed on the general register.

HF 2456 (Scott): Cost-of-living adjustments in maintenance or child support orders repealed, and conforming changes made.

Vice Chair Hudson moved HF 2456 before the committee.

Chair Scott moved that HF 2456 be re-referred to the Committee on Children and Families Finance and Policy.

HF 2959 (Scott): Data protection requirements in certain property tax proceedings modified.

HF 2300 (Scott): Claim amount for mandatory binding arbitration modified; certification of juvenile court expenses eliminated; filing, copying, printing, and distribution of court papers modified; and money appropriated.

Vice Chair Hudson moved that HF 2300 be laid over for consideration at a later date.
