POSITIONS: This opportunity is for two student research assistants to support analysts in the Research Department of the Minnesota House of Representatives. Research assistants perform research tasks in a variety of public policy areas, depending on projects and issues that arise during the state legislative process. One position includes considerable work in education finance.
QUALIFICATIONS: An applicant must be a graduate student, or senior undergraduate, who is an enrolled student for fall 2024.
A successful applicant will have excellent writing and general research skills as well as a nonpartisan background. Database, spreadsheet, or similar experience is highly preferred for the research assistant position involving education finance. Experience or interest in the state legislature and public policy is also desirable.

TERM, HOURS, & PAY: The positions are part-time and temporary from fall 2024 to the end of May 2025. It is for an estimated 10-15 hours per week depending on office need. The schedule is flexible and involves a hybrid of remote and in-person work. The pay range is $27.60 to $37.39 per hour for graduate students, depending on educational level and qualifications, and $23.01 to $27.60 per hour for undergraduates.
