Full-time Committee Legislative Assistant positions provides administrative support duties for a Committee in the Republican Caucus of the Minnesota House of Representatives.
Duties include organizing materials for committee, managing schedules, writing, some casework and research for members of the Caucus. Position involves frequent public contact and regular communication with legislators, constituents, and legislative staff.
Qualifications include: strong PC skills and knowledge of Microsoft programs; good spelling and grammatical skills; proofreading skills; and attention to detail. In addition to strong organizational skills, applicant must have well-developed communication and human relation skills. Good understanding of state government and the legislative process helpful. Must have the ability to work long and irregular hours especially during session. BA/BS required.
Familiarity with Zoom and virtual meeting options a plus.
This is a full-time, at-will position that works in person with the possibility of some interim remote work consistent with House policies and Department needs. Committee Legislative Assistant I - IV range $52,310.88 - $122,525.52. The starting salary range for an entry-level Committee Legislative Assistant I is generally between $52,310.88 and $57,114.48, depending on relevant experience.
