Legislative Update

1

Things are moving quickly here at the Capitol! Today, April 11, marks the third and final budget deadline—an important milestone in our legislative session. This is the cutoff point for all finance bills to be heard and approved in their respective committees before they continue through the process. It’s a little hectic, a lot important, and definitely keeping us on our toes.

Behind the scenes, we’re in deep negotiations to shape a responsible budget—one that doesn’t raise taxes on Minnesota’s working families. We know times are tight, and the last thing anyone needs is more government reaching into their pockets. Our focus remains on smart, efficient spending that protects essential services without overburdening taxpayers.

After today’s deadline, legislators will head back to their districts for a short spring recess. I’ll be using that time to hear directly from you—what’s working, what isn’t, and what you expect as we head into the home stretch. Then on April 21, we return to the Capitol ready to finalize a budget that respects your hard-earned tax dollars.

As always, I’ll keep you in the loop every step of the way. Thanks for following along and for letting me be your voice at the Capitol!

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Veterans

1

On Wednesday, I had the incredible honor of meeting with some truly amazing veterans who dedicated their lives to serving our great nation. It was an unforgettable afternoon on the Hill as I had the privilege of speaking with men and women whose courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to the United States deserve all the recognition and gratitude we can offer.

To each veteran I had the pleasure of meeting—thank you. Your bravery, your service, and the sacrifices you made to protect the freedoms we hold dear have made this country stronger. We are deeply grateful for everything you’ve done to keep us safe and secure.

To all of our veterans, your strength, resilience, and dedication continue to inspire us every day. It is because of you that we are able to live in a land of opportunity and peace. Thank you for your service, your sacrifices, and your enduring legacy. We are forever indebted to you.
