ST. PAUL –Representative Greg Davids (R-Preston) said he has finished crafting legislation that would address several proposed construction projects in our area.
“These projects will contribute greatly to the vitality of our region, and I believe they would be very worthwhile additions to any comprehensive bonding proposal we might have coming forward this year or next year,” Davids said.
Davids first proposal would complete the renovation for the Chatfield Center for the Arts. Davids secured Phase I funding for the project three years ago, and his nearly $8 million bonding request would help make building improvements.
The Lanesboro Dam would also receive necessary resources according to a separate Davids bill, allocating $4.8 million that would finalize its reconstruction.
Another Davids bill would allocate $1.5 million for the Blufflands Trail System, located from Harmony to the Iowa border, which includes a connection to the Niagara Cave.
His fourth bill would appropriate $5 million for the construction of the Root River State Trail from the City of Preston to Forestville State Park.
