ST. PAUL – Minnesota House Republican Leader Lisa Demuth has appointed State Representative Greg Davids (R-Preston) as Republican chairman of the powerful Minnesota House Taxes Committee.
“I am so pleased Leader Demuth has given me the honor of chairing the taxes committee once again,” Davids said. “I am ready to work hard for struggling lower and middle-class Minnesotans who are in desperate need of tax relief.”
Davids said his committee will oversee every tax program in the state and ensure that each is operating efficiently.
Davids has previously served as taxes chairman during the 2011-2012, 2015-2016, and 2017-2018 legislative cycles. As chair, he authored and approved numerous proposals providing hundreds of millions of dollars in tax relief to hardworking Minnesotans, including small business owners, farmers, working families, and college students.
Davids said crafting a similar proposal will be his top priority in 2025.
Davids was also named Republican chairman of the Minnesota House Ethics Committee, a group comprised of an equal number of Republicans and Democrats that addresses formal complaints about alleged misconduct of a state representative.
