SAINT PAUL, MN – Today, the Minnesota House passed HF 3, which brings Minnesota into compliance with the federal REAL ID Act. Without quick action, Minnesotans lacking a compliant driver’s licenses would be unable to board commercial aircraft starting in January 22, 2018.
Rep. Gene Pelowski, Jr. (DFL-Winona), who served on the conference committee that reached a compromise, released the following statement:
“Minnesotans should be confident that when they get to the airport they’ll be allowed to fly. I’m grateful we were able to reach a bipartisan compromise that makes that a reality. As a member of the conference committee that reached this agreement, I’m happy to say that we’re sending a bill to the Governor that he will sign into law.”
