SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Senator Scott Dibble (DFL-Minneapolis) and Represenative Frank Hornstein (DFL-Minneapolis) are committed to working together with Governor Walz to build the state all Minnesotans deserve with high-quality education, affordable and accessible health care, increasing support for working families, and ensuring our infrastructure supports a strong economy.
“I support the budget proposed by Governor Walz today. We must continue to invest in our state by providing quality education for our children, affordable health care, support for the working family, and investment in transportation,” said Sen. Dibble, who serves as the DFL lead on the Senate Transportation Finance and Policy Committee. “Our transportation systems are key to the success of the communities we serve. The common sense proposal for an increase in the gas tax will help keep Minnesota safe and ensure nothing like the I-35W bridge collapse happens again. We need to invest in our crumbling infrastructure and transit mobility so we aren’t putting Minnesotan’s lives and livelihoods at risk.”
“All Minnesotans deserve a multimodal transportation system that will help them stay connected to families and opportunities, no matter where they live in our state,” said Rep. Frank Hornstein, Chair of the House of Representatives’ Transportation Finance and Policy Division. “I’m grateful for Governor Walz’s leadership in putting into action a plan to invest in each community’s unique transportation needs.”
