SAINT PAUL, MN—The Minnesota House passed the Jobs and Energy bill Friday during special session with strong bipartisan support on a 78-47 vote.
Chairman of the House Job Growth and Energy Affordability Committee Rep. Pat Garofalo, R-Farmington, issued the following statement regarding the passage of the special session Jobs and Energy bill:
"This bipartisan budget bill respects taxpayers by reining in spending while still investing in priorities like workforce housing, broadband technology, and job training. This bill also makes important energy reforms that will continue pushing us toward our goal of cleaner and cheaper energy for Minnesotans," Garofalo said. "We also reaffirmed our commitment to supporting poultry farmers devastated by avian flu, and Iron Range workers who have been impacted by recent layoffs by extending unemployment benefits during this difficult time for the poultry and mining industries."
