St. Paul, MN—State Representative Patrick Garofalo, R-Farmington, announced today that he is hosting a community meeting on the issue of recreational marijuana legalization on Wednesday, March 20th. The meeting will involve a discussion between two local experts, moderated by Garofalo, to help citizens better understand the complexity of the issue.
“The issue of marijuana continues to dominate national headlines as more and more states have moved to legalize recreational cannabis,” said Rep. Garofalo. “I want to be clear, this forum is not intended to be a platform to advocate for or against legalizing marijuana. Instead, my intention is to give local residents the opportunity to have a mature, respectful conversation about legalization. I urge anyone interested in this important issue to attend.”
Dakota County Attorney Jim Backstrom and former State Senator Branden Petersen will join Rep. Garofalo at the event.
