GAROFALO STARTS NEW TERM AT LEGISLATURE
SAINT PAUL, MN—Representative Pat Garofalo, R-Farmington, was officially sworn-in Tuesday as the legislature began the 2015 session in St. Paul. Legislators took the oath of office administered by Chief Justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court Lorie Gildea in the House Chamber. Garofalo will continue representing District 58B which includes southern Dakota County and a portion of Goodhue County.
"I'm grateful to return to the legislature and continue serving Farmington and the cities and townships of Dakota and Goodhue Counties," Garofalo said. "I'm looking forward to working with my colleagues on ways to grow jobs, improve our state's economy, and focus on the priorities of Minnesotans across the state."
Garofalo, who was first elected in 2004, was named Chair of the Job Growth and Energy Affordability Policy and Finance last month. He will also serve on Greater Minnesota Economic and Workforce Development Policy Committee, and as a member of the three most powerful committees at the legislature: Rules and Legislative Administration, Taxes, and the Ways and Means Committee.
Garofalo, a network engineer, lives in Farmington with his wife, Julie. They have three children.
