SAINT PAUL – Today, the Minnesota House Health and Human Services Finance Division held an informational hearing with an update from Department of Human Services Commissioner Jodi Harpstead following her first 90 days in the position.
Committee chair Rep. Tina Liebling (DFL – Rochester) issued the following statement:
“Commissioner Harpstead has a very impressive background in business and has managed other large organizations. After serving her first 90 days, today she reported on the results of her investigations and steps the department is making to improve processes and restore trust. Every misstep and dollar misdirected is important, and they must be addressed. Today, she outlined changes that have been made and delivered a message that the department is handling most of its responsibilities well and is headed in a positive direction. Having worked with her over the last 90 days and hearing her thorough report today, I feel confident that DHS is in good hands.”
