SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Today, Today Minnesota Management and Budget released a new economic forecast. According to MMB, Minnesota has a projected budget surplus of $17.6 billion.
Rep. Tina Liebling (DFL – Rochester), chair of the House Health Finance and Policy Committee, issued the following statement:
“This budget surplus gives Minnesota a historic opportunity to advance bold solutions to invest in our communities, reduce costs, improve people’s lives, and create a brighter future for all Minnesotans. There is critical work ahead to address the high cost of health care, ensure that Minnesota students have access to excellent public schools no matter where they live, and to protect the economic security of working people – including ensuring that they can care for themselves or loved ones when sick. I am grateful for the privilege of serving our state at this historic moment and will continue working hard every day to make Minnesota an even better place to live, work, and raise a family.”
