Rochester, MN – Today, the Minnesota Department of Commerce released health insurance rates for individual policies sold through MNsure.
Southeast Minnesota will see significant improvement in both plan choice and pricing. For example, plan choice in Southeast Minnesota is five times greater than 2014, expanding in all metal levels including platinum plans for the first time. Consumers will also benefit from a decrease from 2014 prices at all metal levels. The lowest cost metal levels available through MNsure include options that are as much as 13.3 percent lower than those available last year.
Health and Human Services Policy Chair Tina Liebling (DFL – Rochester) released the following statement:
“The Affordable Care Act is producing greater competition and innovation and the 2015 health insurance offerings and rates in Southeast Minnesota show the results. I'm happy to see that residents will have more quality, affordable choices so they can get the care they need at a price they can afford.”
Health plans sold through MNsure will be available for purchase during Open Enrollment, which begins on November 15, 2014 and ends on February 15, 2015. Rep.
