SAINT PAUL, MN – Yesterday, State Senator James Metzen (DFL-South Saint Paul) passed away after a battle with cancer. Rep. Metzen is survived by his wife Sandie and his children John and Jeff. Rep. Rick Hansen (DFL-South Saint Paul) released the following statement:
“Jim was an absolute pleasure to work with. His dedication and service to our community and our state was unwavering. Jim approached his work as he did everything else in life, with a smile and a great sense of joy. He was one of the greatest partners and mentors I’ve had in my years of public service and I will miss him. My heart goes out to Sandie, John and Jeff during this difficult time.”
