SAINT PAUL, MN—Today, the Minnesota House Property Tax and Local Government Finance Division heard HF 838 to provide an additional $12 million in support to West Saint Paul for State Trunk Highway 952A (Robert Street) construction paid out over 12 years. Rep. Rick Hansen (DFL-South Saint Paul) is carrying the bill.
“Robert Street, a state highway, is such a critical economic artery for our community,” said Rep. Rick Hansen. “But right now West Saint Paul is paying for a disproportionate amount of the costs compared to similar construction projects. This is one of the few bills which received a hearing in both the House and the Senate and I am hopeful there is a path forward to providing more support to West Saint Paul for the Trunk Highway 952A (Robert Street) reconstruction.”
West Saint Paul Mayor Jenny Halverson and City Councilman Dick Vitelli also testified on behalf of the bill.
