SAINT PAUL, MN— Today, State Rep. Rick Hansen (DFL – South Saint Paul) announced $300,000 in grants for South Saint Paul and $150,000 in grants for West Saint Paul. The grants were awarded to improve the city’s waste water infrastructure, including preventing the inflow and infiltration of storm water into waste water treatment systems. The competitive grants were awarded because of a provision Rep. Hansen carried in bonding legislation passed this year.
Rep. Hansen released the following statement:
“It’s great to see South Saint Paul and West Saint Paul win these two grants. I want to congratulate their leadership in fixing our waste water infrastructure and protecting the environment. I’ll continue to work with the cities in our district to ensure we lead the metro on infrastructure and water issues”
More information on the grants can be found at Metropolitan Council’s website.
