SAINT PAUL, MN — Rep. Rick Hansen (DFL-South Saint Paul) offered a resolution at the National Conference of State Legislators to support state and national efforts to combat chronic wasting disease in white tail deer. The resolution, which was adopted unanimously on the consent calendar was modeled after Hansen’s previous regional efforts to help states combat chronic wasting disease.
“Americans expect us to address issues important to our national, our state, and local communities,” remarked Rep. Rick Hansen. “I’m pleased to see legislators from across America come together to support efforts to combat chronic wasting disease. CWD is devastating deer herds and threatening our great outdoors and tourist industry. It’s great to see this group of legislators united behind stopping CWD.”
NCSL has been the champion of state legislatures since its founding in 1975. Working with state level legislators they’re able to give them the tools, information and resources to craft the best solutions to difficult problems.
