SAINT PAUL, MN – The Office of the Legislative Auditor found that some Minnesotans paid minimally for registering their vehicles and others paid far more than they should have. As a result, House DFLers, led by Rep. Rick Hansen (DFL-South Saint Paul), have drafted legislation to reimburse those who overpaid.
“It’s frustrating to see inaccuracies with MNLARS,” remarked Rep. Hansen. “When Minnesotans overpay it is simply unacceptable. That’s why I’ll be joining with my DFL colleagues to introduce legislation to make sure those who overpaid are made whole. Nobody should overpay, period.”
Legislation has been drafted for introduction. A link to the draft legislation can be found here.
